Link a till to ByteBarn Cloud

For owners. ByteBarn POS works fully offline on one till. Linking it to ByteBarn Cloud is optional: it keeps a copy of your business online and lets you add more tills that stay in step with each other.

Link your first till this way. Every other till joins the business from its Welcome screen instead.

Before you start

Section titled “Before you start”
  • You’re logged in as an admin or manager, and the till is online.
  • You have an email address you can read now: that’s how you sign in to ByteBarn Cloud. There’s no password.
Section titled “Link it”
  1. Go to Settings → Cloud Sync. It says the till is Not linked.
  2. Under Create a new business on ByteBarn Cloud, enter your Email and select Send code.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code from the email.
  4. Give the business a Business name, and this till a label under This till’s label (e.g. “Front Counter”).
  5. Select Create business & link this till.

The tab then shows Linked to ByteBarn Cloud, and the till starts uploading everything it already has: Waiting to upload counts down (a few thousand changes takes about a minute). When it reaches 0, the status is Live: Connected: other tills’ changes arrive within a second.

You can keep selling the whole time.

  • Add another till: under Add another till, select Generate pairing code, and follow Join an existing business on the new till.
  • The email you used is the business’s owner email. Keep access to it: it’s how you get back into the business if you lose a till. See Recover your account.
