Products in depth
For managers. Add your first products covers the basics. This page covers the rest of Products.
The product list
Section titled “The product list”Filter it with Filter by name, SKU or barcode and the category list (All Categories). Each product shows its stock, buying and selling price, and a status:
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| In Stock | More than its Minimum Stock |
| Low Stock | At or below its Minimum Stock: time to reorder |
| Out of Stock | None left |
| Oversold | Below zero: more was sold than the stock records show, usually two tills selling the last units before syncing |
Each row has View (its details, suppliers and Stock Movements), Adjust (correct the stock count), Edit and Archive.
Products with variants
Section titled “Products with variants”When one item comes in several versions (sizes, colours, a laptop’s configurations), group them, so the till shows one tile instead of several.
- On Products, select Manage Groups, enter a name in New group name (for example “HP EliteBook 840 G9”) and select Create.
- For each version, open its product (New Product or Edit), choose the group under Product Group, and enter a Variant label that tells it apart, such as “i5 · 8GB · 256GB”. You can also start a group from here with + New group….
Each variant is still a full product, with its own price, stock and barcode.
At the till, the group shows as one tile with its price range and N variants. Tapping it asks which one:
A group can be renamed in Manage Groups, and deactivated once no product is left in it.
Serial-number tracking
Section titled “Serial-number tracking”For phones, laptops and anything else you need to tell apart by IMEI or serial number, set Tracking to Serial Number when you create the product. It can’t be changed afterwards.
- Stock is the units you hold, not a count. Enter the ones you have when creating the product, one per line; later ones arrive when you receive a purchase order.
- At the till, tapping the product opens Select Serial: tap each unit being sold.
- Every unit’s history is in Serial Lookup: type at least 3 characters of a serial number or IMEI to see the unit’s status (In Stock, Sold or Missing) and each time it came in or went out.
Archive a product
Section titled “Archive a product”Select Archive on its row and confirm. The product leaves the product list and the till, and its sales history is kept. This can’t be undone: to sell it again, create it again.
